In any sort of endurance run/bike,
the importance of your crew can't be understated. They will take turns
staying awake as they travel alongside you in a van. They'll be cooking
your food in the back of the van, they'll be making sure you have enough
water, they'll be protecting you from the traffic, they'll be running
alongside you when you need a little perk, and most importantly, they'll
be cheering you on when you start getting down. It takes a tough person
to be on your crew, and Lisa's got the best you can get for this big event.
LEIGH CORBIN – Lead Crew Chief and will be crewing the entire 810
"I am looking forward to crewing for Lisa again this year as she
runs through the Nevada desert and on to Badwater to complete her 9th
official crossing. Having Sister MaryBeth on her crew is a dream come
true for Lisa and I know that it will be an epic event climbing Mt. Whitney
with Lisa and Sister maryBeth carrying the banner for The Religious Teachers
Filippini and Aids Orphans Rising. Lisa is an extraordinary athlete to
crew for. As a crew we are always busy and there is little down time.
This girl can move but along with her outstanding abilities, I have found
that being on Lisa's crew is not only fun but very inspiring also. It
is a place where friends bond and memories are made. I have found that
Lisa has always set a standard of kindness that is followed by others.
Good luck Lisa, we will all be right by your side." turborunz.blogspot.com
GEORGE
VELASCO – Will be crewing the entire 810 miles.
I want to be on Lisa's crew because I believe in her dream goal. I know
how fortunate and blessed I am, living where I live, my good health and
what I have been able to accomplish in my own life. Lisa's dream to help
those less fortunate will be one of the most rewarding and spiritual experiences
of my life. I know Lisa has the physical, mental and spiritual fortitude
to accomplish the 810 miles. Lisa even has me running the streets looking
for money on the ground. 4 cents feeds 1 child; we can all make a difference.
SISTER MARY-BETH LLOYD – Will crew for the
302 miles of running.
Lisa and I have been working for years helping the children, but we have
never been able to do it in person. This year God has given me this grace.
It is one thing reading about Badwater and all of Lisa's feats, it will
be a privilege to be near her and encourage her. Many, many children will
benefit from all the sacrifices that are being made for this challenge.
May God bless all involved and all the benefactors. aidsorphans.blogspot.com
SCOTT
MORGAN – Will crew for the 302 miles of running and one
of the mountain leaders.
This is a wonderful opportunity to spend sometime together with Lisa on
a course we love and to help raise money for the less fortunate orphan children.
I admire Lisa for all of her work “running for a purpose” and
have had the great fortune of being on her crew many other times. This 810
is sure to raise a great deal of money for the children and it means much
to me to be with Lisa, Sister MaryBeth and the rest of the crew in the process
of making a difference.
TERRY
MADL – Will crew for the 302 miles of running
After I finished my first 100 Mile Ultra in Vermont last year, I asked Lisa
if she thought I could handle Badwater. She said, “Yes, but you should
crew for me first to get a feel for the race and to understand how to set
up your own crew.” So that's where this ll got started for me. I had
no idea then that it would blossom into such a wonderful, large-scale humanitarian
project. I feel so privileged to have gotten to know about Sister Mary Beth's
organization and her cause. I really look forward to meeting her at the
810, and of course to provide support for Lisa during this incredible physical
and mental challenge.
ANNEMARIE DEALE – Will crew the 302 mile run
Lisa is such an inspiration to everyone she meets. She is always thinking
about what she can do for someone else-- how she can make someone's day
better, improve their life and, of course, how to help people reach their
dreams. I love having a chance to help change so many children's lives and
to help Lisa fulfill one of her own dreams- using her athletic talent to
help the children.
LAURIE ANDREWS – Will be one of the mountain leaders
Crewing for the 810 is all about giving from the heart and the spirit of the soul. We are all able to make a difference in our own way. The opportunity to crew for Lisa and be on her team is one small way for me to step up and support the worthy cause of AIDS Orphans Rising. If we all were to engage, to stand up and be counted, we could make such a difference in these children's lives. As we are all inspired by these children, hopefully drawing attention to their situation through this amazing athletic adventure will motivate and inspireso many other to support this worthy cause.
